The club holds several train show that are set up throughtout the year for the public to view the club's modular layouts, as well as guest clubs modular layouts and vender tables. There is a spring extravagansa in April, a show in mid-summer, and our last show of the year is usually in November. We operate a large HO scale layout, plus a Garden Railroad style, N scale, Z scale in a brief case, and a Toy Train ( American Flyer, Lional, Marx, etc) layout. When not preparing for our Model Train Shows, we try to schedule events/trips throughout the year that relate to real trains. Whether it is going to a train show, chasing real trains, or visiting a historic train sit. These events are designed to be a social interaction amongst the membership. Among our most popular is the Metrolink Trips organized by Marlin Woodside. We also have our mascot, the Tehachapi Loop Railroad Club Caboose. It can be found at many community events and in local parades in the Tehachapi area. As well as directing people to our Model Train Shows on Train Show weekend in front of the Historic Tehachapi Depot. Finally our monthly meetings have been on ZOOM, on the second Saturday of the month, we are now morphing to a hybrid meeting, where we use Zoom and limited number of people attend in person at the Village Grill on Tehachapi Blvd, across from the abandoned warehouse. These meetings are held at 10:00am. Also in July, the monthly meeting is called a crew change dinner, where newly elected officers are installed, the location of this event varies. In addition for the December meeting, the club hosts a Holiday Dinner. Last but not least, we have a monthly newsletter that is E-mailed to all members. This newsletter includes the minutes from the previous meeting, any up-coming events, and railroad related articles submitted by our members.
